The Z – 4000 Expansion Joint Floor System is a full aluminium cover designed to accommodate thermal as well as seismic movements.

The self-centering plate is available in Aluminium as well as Stainless Steel and allows for the desired movements to protect the structure during a seismic event.

Damage on the floor finish below the cover plate.
This is because of the heavy load that applied to the top of the cover plate.  Don't use marble or tile finished below the cover plate if the area where the floor expansion joint covers applied is subjected to heavy traffic. Provide a 50mm allowance from the edge of the cover plate to the start of your marble or tile application. You can use epoxy grout for the finish floor level below the cover plate.
Bended cover plate.
This is due to the excessive load applied to the plate. Replace the expansion joint cover plate cover with the right thickness that will accommodate the site load requirements. 
The cover plate is becoming a tripping hazard.
Tighten the centering screw that connects the cover plate to the centering turn-bar.
Can I replace the cover plate with a stainless steel plate?
